Black016:Do you think that, like most American ones, Japanese universities should start their academic year from September instead of April?

In some cases, the Japanese students who are admitted to enter the American University start an short-term intensive language  program around July to get used to the English language. But the difference of the starting month (and automatically the finishing month ) of an academic year often becomes a problem in recruiting as well.

For the Brown Belts, here’s a new topic:

Brown016:What would you say to a passenger who is sitting near you on the train and start talking on the phone?

Have you witnessed your nearby passenger answer the receiving call on the train? I have several times.

In one of the cases, I was surprised at how careless they were to let their phone ring instead of setting the manner-mode. But not only didn’t they feel sorry and that they tried to stop their phone from ringing, but they actually answered it and began to talk with a normal loudness! I was both furious and astounded. Everyone near them must have listened to them and got extremely annoyed, but they din’t seem to care too much about being frowned at.

They had a brief talk on over the phone, concluding that they were on the train at present and that therefore they couldn’t talk too long. No way! I shook my head. You are supposed not to let the phone ring, answer the call, not to mention talking, which is a matter of course, or a the common sense we share.

Would you say anything to them or not? I didn’t. Why? Because I didn’t want get involved in an unnecessary trouble that may have happened. Well, am I qualified to state my opinion on this matter? Would you tell them? here!

For Yellow-belts: A New Topic Arrives.

My grandmother had only two grand-children, my elder brother and myself. So she loved us and took us anywhere we wanted to go, not to mention trips. She liked doing something for her family better than spending her time and money with her friends. I cannot thank her too much for what she did for us. Thanks to her, my brother and I had relatively wealthy childhoods. She has gone but if she were alive and offered to buy me something I want, I would ask her for dinner at a restaurant in a hotel commanding a wonderful nightlights and Nagasaki Port.

これまで学習した文だけでも、いろいろなことが表現できますよ。(人を説明する)I have a friend. His name is Ken. He works for a bank. He usually leaves for work early in the morning. He is a very hard worker. I go fishing in the sea with Ken. He is good at fishing too. I am a good cook. I sometimes invite him to dinner. We talk a lot and have fun.

I often go outside with it and take pictures of flowers and cats. I show the pictures on SNS and my friends give me a lot of likes. I am very happy.

Black015:What specific countries Japan should get along with from now on?

Black015:What specific countries Japan should get along with from now on?

A very bad mood currently lies between Japan and South Korea. The Trump’s America has pushed Japan to participate in the unified international security activities against Iran which he is planning to organize. He knows well that Japan has been getting along with Iran for decades and that Japan is under the restraint of any proactive military actions by its constitution. He even prepares to pressure Japan to burden itself more on the stationing of the US army in Japan. Can it be said that the two countries are the best partners? Still it seems that Japan cannot share its basic idea with China in terms of its sovereignty and human rights.
Well, which countries should Japan forge friendship especially with?
India? Great Britain?  Australia? Or Russia?

Brown015:Explain your local custom or house routine around the obon period.

In some regions, “obon” or “bon” period takes place in mid-July, while the others in mid-August. Imagami’s region is the latter.  We have the obon period from the 13th to 15th of August during which the souls of our deceased ancestors are said to come back and stay at home.  What do you do around the obon period? Introduce your case  here!

Yellow016:Which do you use oftener, supermarkets or convenience stores? Why?

During a period of excessively hot weather, you may even get reluctant to walk outside. I myself, too, try hard to make as few steps as possible for whole my body not to be covered with sticky sweat springing out here and there.Under a condition like this, a convenience store looks like an oasis in the desert. When I have time and use my car, I, of course, choose supermarkets. How about you? Which do you prefer, convenience stores or supermarkets?

Please give your idea in the Yellow-belt training room.

Does this bus go ( es をとる ) to Osaka? This bus does not [ doesn’t ] go to Osaka. のように。Tom practices soccer at school. Does Tom practice soccer at school? Tom does not practice soccer at school.

Black014:Do you think nuclear missiles can be eradicated some day? Discuss.

On August 6th, 1945, in Hiroshima, and on 9th in Nagasaki, the atomic bombs were dropped to kill hundreds of thousands of the residents there. Since then, nuclear weapons have been rampant and does not seem to stop proliferating.

While Donald Trump passed over the renewal of the INF (Intermediate-Range Nuclear Forces ) Treaty with Russia the other day, DPRK set off some short-range missiles, which are capable of carrying nuclear heads, very frequently these days. Now the world seems to be going back in the history of denuclearization since President Obama’s Nobel-Peace-Prize-oriented Address in Prague, Czech Republic 2009, in which he, as a prime world leader, showed his commitment to eradicate nuclear weapons from the earth.
